A conviction for driving on a suspended license is serious, especially if you have a driving record. You will face jail time, expensive fines and the possible revocation of your driver’s license. If you have been charged with driving on a suspended license, you need a tough defense lawyer on your side.

I am attorney James Paisley. As a former prosecutor, I know how to attack the state’s case against you. I will examine the evidence and your arrest. If your rights were violated, we may be able to get the charges dismissed. Please call my Atlanta office at 404-618-0960 or email us at info@atlanta-ticket-lawyer.com today. Your consultation is free.

Why Do You Need a Traffic Ticket Lawyer?
Georgia passed a law in 2008 that requires a minimum two-day jail sentence for driving on a suspended license. You will also pay a fine of at least $500 and lose your driver’s license for an additional six months.

If you are convicted of driving with a suspended license three times in a five-year period, you will be considered a habitual violator and your license can be revoked for a minimum of five years. Other convictions, such as driving under the influence (DUI), hit and run, reckless driving and more, also count toward the three convictions necessary for habitual violator status.

Your license can be suspended for something serious, such as a DUI conviction, or for something like an expired license, an insurance lapse or forgetting to pay a traffic ticket. However, if you are convicted of driving on a suspended license, it does not matter why your license was suspended — the same penalties will apply.
